Chubb to Celebrate 25th Anniversary as Title Sponsor of the Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO

As part of Naples’ flagship PGA TOUR Champions event, the Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO, 78 players, including legends of the game, major champions, and Hall-of-Famers, will converge at Tiburón Golf Club this week. Players and spectators consider the Chubb Classic the domestic kickoff for the PGA TOUR Champions season. It is an annual tradition in the greater Naples community.

As the longest-running continuous title sponsor on the PGA TOUR Champions schedule, Chubb is celebrating a milestone in 2023 with the Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO. As tournament officials announced today, Chubb and SERVPRO have extended their title and presenting sponsorships through 2025, continuing this strong partnership for years to come. Presented sponsorship by SERVPRO began in 2021.

For the past 25 years, Chubb has been proud to be the title sponsor of the Chubb Classic, a signature event for both Naples and the PGA TOUR. It is also an extraordinary opportunity for us at Chubb to network with our clients and business associates while being able to celebrate the competition on the golf course. Importantly, we are delighted to contribute to First Tee, a nationwide organization focusing on youth development. We look forward to this exciting week in PGA TOUR calendar as part of our ongoing tradition.

Rick Isaacson, CEO of SERVPRO, shared his admiration for the PGA TOUR Champions professionals performing spectacularly each year. He went on to praise both SERVPRO and Chubb’s ability to consistently provide top-notch services and solutions to their respected clients. The partnership between the two companies is one in which an unwavering commitment to excellence is celebrated, providing golf enthusiasts with a remarkable experience. Congratulations to Chubb as they mark 25 years with the PGA TOUR Champions! SERVPRO is delighted to remain affiliated with such a renowned event and proud to represent these two outstanding brands.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to Chubb for their longstanding partnership with PGA TOUR Champions, said Miller Brady, President of PGA TOUR Champions. We are delighted that Chubb and SERVPRO have decided to renew their title and presenting sponsorships. Their dedication to providing extraordinary tournament experiences for our players and fans and their charitable contributions to the Naples community have helped make the Chubb Classic an important event on the Tour. We look forward to continuing this excellent collaboration.

“PGA TOUR Champions has a long and cherished history in the greater Naples community, and we are grateful for Chubb and SERVPRO’s continued partnership in delivering a first-class event for players and spectators,” said Sandy Diamond, Chubb Classic Executive Director. As a result of Chubb and SERVPRO’s support, this tournament has given millions to charitable organizations throughout Southwest Florida, and we look forward to continuing our partnership for years to come.”

Over the past 25 years, the Chubb Classic has been a launch pad for major champions to kickstart their PGA TOUR Champions careers:

  • In 1999, Allen Doyle captured his first career PGA TOUR Champions win, the first of four victories that season. He would go on to win 11 times, including four major championships as well as the Charles Schwab Cup in 2001.
  • In 2000, Lanny Wadkins – who will serve as lead analyst for GOLF Channel’s live tournament coverage this week – captured his first PGA TOUR Champions win at the Chubb Classic.
  • In 2010, Fred Couples won in his second PGA TOUR Champions start.
  • In 2015, Lee Janzen won for the first time since capturing his second U.S. Open title in 1998.

Bernhard Langer will aim to cement his place in history as he returns to defend his Chubb Classic title this year. At 65, the German already holds the distinction of being the oldest winner on PGA TOUR Champions with 44 victories – just one short of Hale Irwin’s record 45. Last year’s tournament saw Langer opening with a 64, shooting his age, and concluding with two 68s for a wire-to-wire win. His most recent triumph was at the TimberTech Championship in South Florida, where he earned his 44th career victory on PGA TOUR Champions.

The 2023 Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO takes place on Feb. 17-19, with a 54-hole championship over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday and a $1.8 million purse up for grabs – a boost of $200,000 from the previous year. This event boasts an impressive lineup of players, including Steve Stricker who won in 2021, Steven Alker winner of the 2022 Charles Schwab Cup as well as Hall-of-Famers Fred Couples, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen and Sandy Lyle plus major champions Jim Furyk, Padraig Harrington, Tom Lehman, Justin Leonard and Rocco Mediate. Other big names participating are four-time PGA TOUR winner Notah Begay III and past champions Scott Parel, Joe Durant, Lee Janzen and Kirk Triplett.
