DELRAY BEACH, Florida – The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa has named Doug Ridge new general manager for the 1,002-room resort. Ridge joined the resort team in this past March 2020 after previously serving as the general manager for Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.
Ridge has more than 35 years in the hospitality industry, having served in nearly all hotel and resort departments.

Ridge began his hospitality career as a housekeeping manager at the Tan-Tar-A Resort at Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. He also has served as a general manager for Marriott, Westin, Sheraton and Gaylord brands, each within Marriott’s Convention and Resort Network.
The JW Marriott San Antonio resort, located in the Texas Hill Country, temporarily suspended operations in this past mid-March in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. It re-opened its this past June 15.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa encompasses 600 acres with an abundance of adventures and on-site activities, including two TPC golf courses, a nine-acre water park with water and body slides, multiple activity pools and a sandy beach play area, more than 265,000 square feet of meeting and event space, seven on-site dining options and a full-service spa and wellness center.
