Few golf product launches made bigger waves in 2022 than TaylorMade’s Stealth line. Now, TaylorMade has taken its groundbreaking Carbon Twist Face technology to the next level with the TaylorMade Stealth 2 line. This line features the Stealth 2 Driver, the Stealth 2 HD Driver, and the Stealth 2 Plus Driver.

Last year’s Stealth was an unqualified success for TaylorMade, so for 2023, the objective was to build on that with the Stealth 2. A partial ring of carbon fiber around the rear of the head was added, so the entire body except for the titanium collar holding the face and the front of the club is nonmetallic.

Weighting is different for each of the models to satisfy the needs of different skill level players, with the Stealth 2 Plus being the only one with a sliding weight. Those interested in a customized look have the choice, for an added cost, of nine face colors, six skirt ring colors, plus matte or gloss crown and a black or white top line.

Continuing to price drivers in the upper end of the spectrum, TaylorMade has increased the Stealth 2’s by $20 compared with the 2022 Stealth.

A primarily carbon-based head construction is revolutionizing where we are able to position mass in a driver and this allows us to finely tune the launch, spin and MOI in each of the three Stealth 2 driver models.”

Stealth 2 Plus Driver

The lowest-spinning driver model in the Stealth 2 stable, the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus Driver is an excellent option for highly-skilled golfers and those looking to bring their spin rate down. These golfers will also appreciate the adjustability of this club, as it features a 15-gram weight that can be moved across the face to tweak their ball flight at will.

Stealth HD Irons

Last year’s Stealth irons were TaylorMade’s solution for those needing a game-improvement iron, and the new Stealth HD, a part of the TaylorMade Stealth 2 line, has tweaked that design to accommodate players looking for a super game-improvement type, such as seniors who generate less clubhead speed.

The center of gravity is very low in the head, moving upward as lofts increase, and is a major factor in producing high-trajectory shots, especially for moderate to slow swingers. Both distance and trajectory are aided by the smaller radius leading edge and wide sole that help with turf interaction. Not to overlook from the ball-launch discussion, though, is the HDs are two degrees weaker than the original Stealth, a real help for seniors. The ball goes higher and therefore covers additional yards compared with lower lofted irons hit without a higher swing speed

The Cap Back hollow head has been around for a couple of years and helps with proper weight location and vibration dampening.
