On Course Foundation Kicks Off Second Annual Fundraising Campaign on July 4

The second annual fundraising campaign of On Course Foundation starts on July 4th with the aim of encouraging wounded, injured, and sick veterans to utilize golf as a means of physical and mental recovery.

On Course Foundation stands out from other military-golf non-profits as it teaches service men and women how to play golf and equips them with valuable business skills that can help them secure jobs in the golf industry.

The summer campaign aims to raise $100,000 through the generous contributions of both corporations and individuals. To make a contribution, please visit oncoursefoundationusa.org/donate.

On Course Foundation Kicks Off Second Annual Fundraising Campaign

The donated funds are utilized to introduce new On Course Foundation initiatives in various markets and broaden the range of golf companies that hire veterans, who gain immense confidence through the Foundation’s programs.

Current On Course Foundation sponsors include Apollo Global Management, Barclays, Charles Schwab, CSX, Callaway, Clubessential, and Summit Golf Brands.

John Simpson, Founder and Chairman of On Course Foundation believes that Independence Day is the perfect opportunity to express gratitude towards the military. He encourages everyone to honor and appreciate those who protect our freedoms and acknowledge the positive impact that golf can have on the lives of individuals who may be struggling.

Thousands of On Course Foundation members benefit from the organization’s golf education and career services. Exhibiting profound changes of character, they are placed in full-and part-time jobs with Invited, Marriott Golf, TaylorMade Golf, Topgolf Callaway Brands, and TPC Network, as well as at golf courses, country clubs, and resorts coast to coast.

Typifying On Course Foundation’s success is Craig Richardson. While in the Air Force in Afghanistan, a landmine threw him 25 feet in the air, causing breaks to his right knee, amputation of his right leg, left knee injuries, and a shattered humerus on his shoulder. Recalls of the incident were extremely taxing on the mind. Richardson learned about On Course Foundation, his first exposure to golf. Smitten with the sport and business of golf, he became a club fitter for Callaway, a tournament scorer for VPAR, and is now full-time at Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey.

“Without On Course Foundation, I’d likely still experience countless psychological and physical difficulties in assimilating back into society,” says Richardson. “Golf is transformational, and I’m now living a productive family, professional, social, financial, and athletic life.”

Many On Course Foundation members never picked up a golf club before introduction to the organization. With unwavering determination, many of them are able to achieve single-digit handicaps and earn a spot in the yearly Simpson Cup, where U.K. and U.S. teams compete in matches similar to the Ryder Cup. The upcoming 2023 edition of the golf tournament is scheduled to take place from August 28-31 at the prestigious Royal Lytham and St. Annes Golf Club.
