Mission Inn Resort & Club Announces New Director of Golf
A new Director of Golf has been appointed to Mission Inn Resort & Club, a property of the MMI Hotel Group. In this role, Mulry will oversee golf operations for both championship courses, El Campeón, and Las Colinas, on the storied Central Florida resort property. Under new ownership, there are several enhancement projects planned for the property.
Mulry boasts 25 years as a certified Class ‘A’ PGA of America member and has been in the golf industry for more than three decades. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Professional Golf Management from Ferris State University, based in Big Rapids, MI. His career began in the state of Wisconsin throughout the 90s, affording him experience managing 18-hole private golf courses. In 2011 he was recruited by the former Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, now known as International Junior Golf Academy, to hold positions as Senior Golf Coach and Junior Tour Director at their Mission Inn Resort base. During his tenure there, he had the chance to coach some of the elite junior golfers. In early 2023 Mulry was appointed Head Golf Professional at Mission Inn Resort & Club and soon after promoted to Director of Golf.
Cindy Staley, General Manager of Mission Inn Resort & Club, said that “the appointment of Bryan, coupled with the renovations we’re making across the property, are ushering us into a new and exciting chapter. We felt that Bryan would bring some fresh perspective to our current operation, while still holding tight to the values and important legacy of this historic resort and club. Bryan already has a deep understanding of our market and relationships with both our members and guests. He’s the ideal leader for this position on our senior management team.”
In December 2022, MMI Hospitality Group acquired Mission Inn Resort & Club and assumed responsibility for its operation through its hotel management arm, MMI Hotel Group. This appointment of a new golf director was timely and ideal in view of the resort’s planned enhancement projects already being executed, one of which being a new sprinkler system for both golf courses. Moreover, course maintenance and refurbishments as well as improvements intended to optimize the guest experience, are slated to continue over the coming years.
