Seminole Legacy Golf Club Honored by GOLF.com
Seminole Legacy Golf Club at Florida State University has been named #15 on GOLF.com’s list of Florida’s “Top 30 Golf Courses.” GOLF’s expert raters rated public and private courses in the Sunshine State for 2022-23, with Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach taking the top spot.
The Nicklaus Design Company renovated Seminole Legacy for $10 million in 2020. The renovation scope included a complete course redesign, with only one hole remaining from the original Bill Amick routing. According to GOLF’s 100+ expert panelists, the renovation effectively repositioned Seminole Legacy as one of the top collegiate golf clubs in the nation.
Florida State University’s men’s and women’s golf teams have played at the club for years. It is known as Don Veller Seminole Golf Course, which opened in 1962. With two practice ranges and a new 12-hole par three course for the university’s golf teams, the Nicklaus design sits on 174 acres and measures 7,800 yards from the tips. The 2020 project renovated the tees, fairways, rough bunkers, greens, and cart paths.
Various memberships are available at Seminole Legacy, managed by Troon Golf, the world’s largest golf and golf-related hospitality management company with more than 750 locations worldwide. Memberships are available to Florida State University students, faculty, staff, and friends.
