I have been waiting for this for a while. One of the finest tracks in all of Central Florida has reopened with an all-new 18th hole island green. Originally designed by the great Joe Lee in 1986 and then revamped by famed golf course architect Bobby Cupp in 1998, Hawk’s Landing, a 6245-yard delight, has been one of the most popular courses of resort guests, theme park visitors, and local players for 35 years. Well known for its pristine playing conditions, quick greens, and challenging water features on 15 of the 18 holes, Hawk’s Landing golf course spans over 220 acres of lush manicured grounds at Orlando World Center.

The Orlando Marriott World Center, just five minutes from the Disney theme parks, features 2010 guestrooms and suites, 450,000 square feet of meeting space, The Fall Pool Oasis, nine restaurants and lounges, and is the premier resort in Central Florida.

In conjunction with a major resort expansion project, Marriott Golf brought Bobby Cupp Jr. back to oversee the re-design. Three holes were completely rebuilt including the signature finishing hole, which is now a 204 yard, par 3 with an island green. These new renovations are a culmination of a multi-year improvement plan which included a complete bunker renovation with innovative capillary concrete liners, and conversion of all putting greens to Diamond Zoysiagrass, which has received rave reviews for its speed and consistency.

Hawk’s Landing is ready for golfers to take on their new island green. “The new 18th hole will be a very memorable highlight, and challenge all players to hit their best shot to finish their round on the course,” said Chris Jones, PGA Director of Golf at Hawk’s Landing Golf Club.

The Orlando World Center Marriott offers special packages including stay & play as well as golf schools. The golf course is open to resort play, groups, and local golfers, offering annual membership programs with a variety of resort and golf benefits.
