Copperhead hosted the Amerilife Pro-Celebrity-Am with 28 teams of five competitors. The celebrities included Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield, Titus O’Neal, Brittany Lincicome, and Jan Stephenson. The winning team was lead by former MLB relief ace Goose Gossage along with pro Austin Cook and amateurs Christopher Karelia, David Bevan, and Skip Rowe.

The main event of the day for women was held in the Snake Pit Hospitality Tent on the 17th green. It was the Sold-Out Morgan Stanley Executive Women’s Day presented by Jabil.  The event hosts were Ronice Barlow and Penny Parks.  Ronice, a Copperhead member, is Senior VP/Co-Head of US retail sales at Franklin Templeton. Penny is President and Founder of Links Financial LLC and also is a Copperhead.

The first speaker was Heidi Banks Vice President of global indirect procurement and source to pay strategy for Jabil, a global $30 billion manufacturing solutions provider.  Jabil is providing phone charging stations with lockers for the Valspar Championship.

Ann Liguori and Ronice Barlow

Then the trailblazer Ann Liguori spoke broadcasting her wisdom to the crowd. She is an icon in sports broadcasting- with weekly sport’s call in show on WFAN-NY 660 AM. She is also an author with a new book coming out officially on April 2. She will be covering her 26th Master this April. Her new book Life on the Green is lessons and wisdom from 12 legends of golf six men and six women. Each legend revealing some aspect of their personal life with all positive messages.

Christina Unkel, President of Tampa Bay Sun, Tampa Bay’s first professional women’s soccer team, talked about her experiences as an entrepreneur, legal attorney, multi business owner and sports tv analyst/ journalist. She mentioned talking to Sheila Johnson, owner of Innisbrook, and Sheila telling her a big obstacle in a woman’s business success is,  “Women don’t support women!”

Liana Fuente

Another speaker was Liana Fuente, a businesswoman and philanthropist who spent 15 years with Arturo Fuente, rising to Vice President of brand development. She is in the process of refurbishing the original family factory in Ybor City. Liana is hoping to have the grand opening in 2025.

All of the speakers had the same theme of helping women be successful in business and life.

After all the speakers finished,  the women were treated to Josh Cellars Wine and Cabot Creamery in tasty charcuterie cups.  The Cabot Cheese Truck is out by 14th tee handing out delicious grilled pimento cheese sandwiches and cheese samples.

Retired MA elementary school teacher.  Starting in 1981 spent summers covering PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, Champion Tour, Legends of the LPGA Tour, and USGA tournaments.  Some of my favorite photos were of Sam Sneed, Jan  Stephenson, Tiger Woods, and Kenny Perry.
