Through a multi-year agreement, the Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation and Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville, Fl. will host a new PGA TOUR Champions event with the addition of Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS presented by Circle K, October 4-10, with proceeds benefitting Northeast Florida charities.

“Timuquana is excited to be the host for the tournament,” says General Manager Greg Sheara. “When we were approached by Jim and Tabitha regarding the opportunity, we found that their vision, its possible impact on local charities and showcasing the westside of Jax was a perfect match for the club. Our membership has embraced the event by assisting the Foundation’s team in securing sponsorships and volunteers who will help bring that vision to life.”

“Timuquana Country Club has a rich history as a great golf course,” says Tabitha Furyk. “The member golfers tell Jim that it is a challenging course in a beautiful location, and can be one of the best courses on the Champions Tour.”

Constellation, a competitive energy company providing power, natural gas, renewable energy and energy management products and services for homes and businesses nationwide, has selected five charities to benefit from the tournament: MaliVal Washington Youth Foundation; First Tee of North Florida; First Coast Chapter of Blessings in a Backpack; St. Johns Riverkeeper; and Habitat for Humanity(Habijax).

Tabitha continues, “We’ve been blessed to be a part of this community for 25 years. With Jim’s success as a professional golfer, we have been able to start the foundation as a platform to give back to the kids in the area. For 10 years we have been expanding to generate more dollars to give to local charities. Our goal is to raise $1 million this year.”

Jim Furyk, a 51-year-old West Chester, Pa. native, has 29 professional wins including the 2003 U.S. OPEN, the 2021 U.S. Senior Open, and was the 2010 FedEx Cup Champion. Jim will serve as the tournament’s official host. The 81 man field will include Phil Mickelson, the 2021 PGA Championship winner, along with Ernie Els, Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples, David Love III and Retief Goosen just to name a few. Ryder Cup Captains Steve Stricker and Padraig Harrington will be joining the star-studded field. Jack & Barbara Nicklaus will also be there for the Furyk & Friends Champions Breakfast on Friday the 8th.
