Reserva Conchal Golf Club which is located in Costa Rica’s northern province of Guanacaste, was recently recognized as the country’s ‘Best Golf Course’ during the 8th Annual World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony held in Dubai this year. The Awards celebrate world-class golf courses and destinations, recognizing excellence within the golf tourism sector, and are voted for by golf travel professionals as well as golf tourism consumers. World Golf Awards is the sister organization of World Travel Awards, currently celebrating its 28th anniversary. For more information visit WorldGolfAwards.com.

Reserva Conchal features a Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed golf course that opened in 1997. The 7,029-yard, par 71 layout meanders through the rolling coastal terrain, offering stunning Pacific Ocean views on several holes. The Club also includes two magnificent resort properties, the W Hotel Reserva Conchal by Marriott, which opened in 2018 and the Westin Golf Resort & Spa, Playa Conchal that opened in 2011. Both resort hotels provide guests with access to the golf club.

“This is a very rewarding accomplishment for all involved at Reserva Conchal,” said Andy Stockinger, General Manager, Reserva Conchal. “Since partnering with Troon International in 2019, we have elevated the course conditions and experience to a world-class level. We continue to invest in the property, while taking a sustainable approach.”

Reserva Conchal is owned by the Florida Ice & Farm Company(FIFCO). Since acquiring the mixed-use development in 2001, the 105-year-old Costa Rican beverage corporation has been committed to employing long-term sustainable maintenance practices, which Troon has helped refine. In 2002, the golf course was the first to be certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary in Costa Rica and has maintained its certification through the years.

Reserva Conchal is an exclusive beach, golf and equestrian community spread out over 2,300 acres along Costa Rico’s Pacific Ocean coastline, and has over 2,000 residences. Developed on a former cattle ranch, the mixed-use property focuses on an eco-friendly use of the land, restoring a vast majority of it stripped bare for cattle. The development goes beyond national standards to ensure the protection of the area’s forests, mangroves, flora and fauna through environmentally sensitive construction practices.

Troon, the worldwide leader in golf and club management, oversees the golf, beach club, and food & beverage operations as well as club marketing and agronomy. Lakes and ravines accentuate the 18 hole golf course that puts a premium on accurate tee and approach shots to large manicured Bermuda grass greens. Each nine follows the topography of the beautiful countryside treating golfers to outstanding ocean views, tropical forests and glimpses of the exotic wildlife. The golf club is reserved for hotel guests, residents and members only. Reserva Conchal is located 45 minutes from Liberia International Airport.
