KemperSports, headquartered near Chicago, announced it has been selected to manage St. James Bay Golf Resort in Carrabelle, Florida. Located amid the popular travel destination of the Florida panhandle along the Gulf of Mexico and less than 50 miles southwest of the State Capital of Tallahassee, St. James Bay Resort enjoys a strong reputation as one of the top resort communities in the region along with serving as a popular lodging destination for traveling outdoor enthusiasts.
“St. James Bay Golf Resort has remained a popular destination for nearly 15 years,” said John Green, President of Lynnwood Development. ” We look forward to working with KemperSports and implementing their best practices to enhance the experience for our guest at the resort.”
Under new ownership since April 2017, the resort community’s cornerstone is the 18 hole championship golf course. Certified as an Audubon international Certified Sanctuary on behalf of the course’s commitment to environmentally efficient agronomy practices, the Robert Walker,ASGCA, designed golf course provides strategic options throughout the fun and inspiring bay front layout.
The par 72, 6,600 yard public golf course is well know as one of the most finely conditioned designs in the state and includes water hazards or wetlands on most holes. It was built to provide a strong test of golf for low-handicap players who choose to play from the tips and challenge the hazards and many bunkers while delivering a resort experience for the more casual golfer. Built in 2003, St. James Bay remains one of the top courses in the state and was ranked #19 by Golf Advisor in 2016 on its list of the best in Florida.
The resort experience is rounded out by four golf villas surrounding the clubhouse and residential condominiums overlooking the course that offer recently remodeled two and three bedrooms units with kitchen. There is private pool access and the local favorite Crooked River Grill for lunch and weekend dinners.
“We are proud to manage St. James Bay Golf Resort,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “It has a strong reputation and is well regarded in the market. we look forward to working with the ownership and staff to elevate all areas of the guest experience and create a truly memorable place.” KemperSports has begun operations in August and immediately has implemented its best in class marketing and service programs, including TrueService- the company’s proprietary customer service training program. The goal of the program is to deliver genuine, helpful and friendly service to every St. James Bay guest.
