Reunion Resort Opens Golf Academy

The Reunion Resort & Spa, one of the luxury Salamander Collection of Hotels and Resorts, located in Central Florida, has opened the Reunion Golf Academy to provide members and guests the finest selection of instruction and club fitting in the area.

Under the direction of Reunion Resort’s Class A Head Golf Professional, Jake Etherton, the Academy is designed to accommodate all levels of assistance from the novice golfer to the zero handicapper. Golf is an individualized sport where every student or swing is unique. With this in mind, Reunion Golf Academy instruction programs are adaptable to the specific goal of each student or group. The teaching can be customized by their PGA qualified instructors to fit your needs. From private/group instruction, golf schools and quick fix playing lessons, the staff is here to make your golf experience as enjoyable as possible.

The Academy is housed in a spacious 5,400 square foot facility nestled near the 18th fairway of the Watson course at Reunion Resort. Pristine putting greens and a private driving range lay steps from the front door, exclusively for the use of the Academy members and guests. There are two short game practice areas complete with bunkers to work on your scoring game and two turf mats to practice your distance shots. The great outdoor private practice areas are complemented by a conference room, modern fitness room with top-of-the-line workout equipment and two hitting bays.

The Reunion Golf Academy has certified Titlist Performance Institute(TPI) instructors to help with not only the teaching but with golf fitness as well. TPI is the world’s leading education organization dedicated to the direct study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. TPI has studied thousands of golfers( from the very best to the weekly duffer) to understand what works. The three keys of TPI are flexibility, mobility and stability, and these elements are utilized with all instruction.

The hitting bays are equipped with the latest technology to analyze your swing and all other factors to help insure you are playing with the correct clubs and shafts. They have Callaway, TaylorMade and Titlist clubs to choose from. In addition the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer system which they have incorporated into their fitting system allows the Reunion club fitters to utilize this program to put the best clubs in your hands.
