by | May 2, 2022 | NEWS

Bluffton, South Carolina–Oldfield Club, the beautiful 860-acre gated golf community along the banks of the Okatie River, has selected Troon Golf to manage its private, member-owned community. Troon Prive’, the private club operating division of Troon, will manage golf operations and agronomy, the Equestrian Center, Sports Club, Outfitters Center, food & beverage, and membership marketing, as well as Oldfield’s community association.

Oldfield, an Audubon International Certified Sustainable Community, offers an array of amenities for residents and members, including a Greg Norman-designed Signature Championship golf course, Sports Club with cardio and strength training equipment, heated lap pool, large outdoor pool, wellness and nutrition clinics, tennis and pickleball courts, and an Equestrian center. Oldfield’s Outfitters Center provides a comprehensive
offering of outdoor activities including fishing, boating, boat storage, kayaking, and nature programming which capitalize on the community’s outdoor lifestyle and proximity to the Okatie River.

The River Club is the community’s centerpiece for dining, relaxation and conversation, affording members and guests with panoramic views of the marsh and river in a beautiful plantation home. The Magnolia grill located in the Oldfield Clubhouse is a casual dining experience for lunch and dinner with low country food.

“Troon Prive’ has extensive experience in managing premium private clubs and communities similar to Oldfield,” said Oldfield President Mark Rovnak. “This expertise and leadership will be critical as we navigate the changing landscape for our community while remaining true to the essence of Oldfield that initially drew us here and that we all cherish.”

Community Association President Jeff Shawd added, “Oldfield members care deeply about the natural beauty of our property, from our white-fenced pastures to our riverside marshes, and we believe Troon Prive’ can bring an enhanced level of stewardship.”

“We feel privileged to be entrusted by both boards at Oldfield, Club and Community Association, as they seek to further elevate the quality of the lifestyle experience for all their residents and members,” said Joe Langford, Vice President of Operations for Troon. “Our team is thrilled to get  started at Oldfield and will look to further elevate the club and community in terms of service, food and beverage offerings, experience and more.”
