Golf Hall of Fame – Nick Price opens the New Soleta Golf Club in Myakka City

MYAKKA CITY, FLORIDA – Just over a year ago, Nick Price pulled up on a bulldozer and started talking about a unique golf course to be built on this property. This Nick Price design was to be called Soleta Golf Club and would be ready in December 2024.
I can’t tell you how many writers were somewhat shocked at the statement of a dramatic golf course like Soleta and being complete and ready for play in one year.
So, being at the official opening of Soleta Golf Club early in December was, for many, amazing!
When you look at the course you would have to agree that this construction ready to play in a year is truly a construction miracle.
Named from the Native American word for sandhill crane, Soleta Golf Club will become a full-fledged family-oriented resident private club.
The 7,400-yard par-72 golf course is part of the first phase at Soleta.
Another unique aspect of the course is its versatility. Price explained that golf is played in the air as well as on the ground. He built the green complexes to be receptive to high wedge type shots in to the green as well and for those golfers that still play a chip and run type game.
Another unique factor is the Price designed the tees to be adjustable, or as he called in “Free-Standing” tees. In many cases, the tee box area is up to 120 yards long, allowing you to find your perfect distance. Price even suggested a 2-week timeframe for the members to have no tee markers and allow them to find their perfect place to place for maximum fun on this golf course.

The club will only have 275 local members and another 100 national members. Soleta officially opened the week prior for the members. There are already 170 members, including Nelly Korda. If you are interested, the initiation fee is $115,000.
The practice facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. Renowned Hall of Fame golf instructor David Leadbetter will lead the performance center at Soleta, which features Toptracer and Trackman technology that is in place now for your practice enjoyment. The facilities will include hitting bays, a locker room with a hot tub, cold tub, sauna and a small restaurant.
There are also plans in 2026 to add a pool, tennis and pickleball as part of the amenities package.
The course is totally separated from the luxury homes planned from Anchor Builders and John Cannon Homes. Homesite have a 3,600 square-foot minimum with prices starting at $3 million. The lots are half-acre and 1-acre properties.
Special 4-bedroom guest houses will be available for national members that want to spend a few days on site with family and friends for some great golf.
If you want a unique golf experience… Soleta Golf Club is the place to consider.
