Located just over three hours from the Minneapolis – St. Paul metro area, Giants Ridge boasts two of the highest ranked layouts in the state, The Quarry and The Legend. The Quarry is rated the “Best Course You Can Play” in Minnesota by Golfweek and GOLF Magazine. Now a “must-play” course, it was once home to a sand quarry and iron ore mine. Dramatically raised tees and hazards forged from reclaimed and repurposed mine land create unique challenges. The par 3, 17th is a memorable test and one of the most photographed holes in Minnesota.

As its name implies, The Legend offers flat-out legendary golf. The original Giants Ridge course opened in 1997, designed by Jeffrey Brauer with a little assist from PGA Star Lanny Wadkins. The Legend is a true “northwoods” course featuring towering pines, boulder outcroppings giant bentgrass fairways and majestic views of Wynne and Sabin Lakes. Its smooth edges and traditional design elements offer a stunning contrast to its starkly modern sibling, Quarry, which opened in 2003. The Legend par 4, 13th is especially unique and a challenging golf hole and one of the most photographed holes in Minnesota.

“Giants Ridge is home to two of the top-ranked layouts in the North Star State,” says John Kendall, Director of Golf. “Impeccable course conditions and a variety of lodging options to suit any budget and group size make Giants Ridge an excellent venue for a fun and memorable golf getaway.”

Offering unbeatable value and 36 thrilling holes, Giants Ridge has long been considered one of Minnesota’s best golf destinations. Managed by Billy Casper Golf, players are assured a great golf experience from the time they arrive to the last day they load up the clubs.
