For the third consecutive year, the PGA Golf Club, the PGA of America’s premier 54-hole facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida has received the Platinum Award from the Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM). The award spotlights clubs and facilities with the most creative and innovative retail accomplishments and successful initiatives that enhance the customer experience and relationships. Entries were judged by an impartial panel on various categories including creativity, revenue-generating ideas, promotions and visual displays.
PGA Golf Club management was presented the 2018 Platinum Award at AGM Annual Retail Conference in Orlando. “Receiving this award from the AGM three straight years is quite an honor,” says Jimmy Terry, PGA Golf Club General Manager. “The golf shop is a memorable space that resonates with our members and guests, as we provide them with the top brands and styles in golf merchandise as an essential element in their complete club experience.”
The PGA Golf Club’s golf shop is stocked with apparel for men, women and juniors from major manufacturers, with gift items accessories and resort wear emblazoned with the PGA Golf Club logo. They use innovative display enhancers and point of sale lighting to ensure all the merchandise is visually appealing.
“We strive to create vibrant and attractive presentations throughout the golf shop that spotlight the latest in fashion trends,” says Ashley Olson, PGA Golf Club merchandising Manager. “Our main goal is to make the guest experience refreshing and pleasing.”
AGM is an international, professional association of golf related merchandisers and vendors. Members include golf professionals, buyers, merchandisers, students, club managers, owners and suppliers to the golf industry. Headquartered in Arizona, the AGM is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit corporation founded in1989, and governed by a 19-member volunteer Board of Directors.
In addition to the PGA Golf Club, other notable clubs bestowed the 2018 AGM Platinum Award included Whistling Straits Golf Club (2020 Ryder Cup host) and the Pinehurst Resort (the Home of American Golf).
TAPLOW PUB named “Best Pub” on the Treasure Coast:: Awards just keep coming.
If you haven’t been to the PGA Golf Club, you are missing one of the great golf trips you will ever take. In the past three years I have witnessed one of the greatest transformations to a golf resort ever. Besides redoing all three golf courses, the clubhouse went through a major remodel as well. The Taplow Pub, the main dining room at PGA Golf Club, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. The Best of the Treasure Coast award is the latest honor bestowed on the PGA Golf Club in 2018. The Golf Range Association of America named the PGA Center for Golf learning & Performance a “top 50 Range” for the 17th consecutive year.
