World Woods Golf Club

world woodsWorld Woods Golf Club near Brooksville, Florida is now offering packages with stays at their near-by villas. World Woods is home to two Tom Fazio world renowned championship courses. The Pine Barrons course is ranked 26th in Golf Week’s list of “America’s Best Modern Courses”, and is a visually stunning masterpiece blending native terrain and extraordinary design. Named for the many stands of tall pine trees that line the layout, it has dramatic elevation changes. The large fairways are framed by expansive waste areas that create a challenging and unique golf experience. The greens are another matter. You must choose your entry wisely preferably to keep the ball below the hole or on the right level of the sloping and undulating manicured greens. The course’s style has been compared to the consensus #! golf course in the country, Pine Valley in New Jersey.

The Rolling Oaks course is a completely different design where Fazio brought “Augusta National to Florida”. It is amazing that two distinctive layouts are next to each other. This equally world class course has giant oak trees draped with moss that accent the holes along with a full array of azalea bushes and rolling emerald green fairways with very defined bunkering. Once again you will be tested on the greens.

World Woods is among the Top 10 World’s Most Beautiful Courses picked by the PGA.com Editorial Advisory Board. The two courses are enough to bring professionals and groups from around the world to play here, but there is more. The # 1 practice facility of any golf club is right here, with a Fazio designed short course, a 3 hole “warm up” course with 3,4 and 5 pars, an extensive 20 acre circular range with target greens, bunkers, a separate iron range and enormous putting complex. General Manager Scott Wyckoff and his professional staff can assist you with lessons and tournament information. For Stay & Play rates contact www.WORLDWOODS.com or call 352-796-5500.
