THE SQUEEZE stars Christopher McDonald as Riverboat, a notorious gambler who discovers a modest young man named Augie Baccas (Jeremy Sumpter) in a small rural town with uncommon golf skills. After Augie wins the City Championship by 15 shots, Riverboat and his highfalutin wife (Katherine LaNasa) convince him to abandon his dreams of qualifying for the US Open and come play for Riverboat in high-stake gambling matches.

It angers his long time girlfriend Natalie (Jillian Murray) beyond words as she watches him abandon his dreams and compromise his integrity, Augie continues to use his uncommon talent to win higher and higher stakes matches until they’re finally run out of town and head for Las Vegas. Playing for even higher stakes, Augie finds himself pitted against notorious Vegas gambler Jimmy Diamonds (Michael Nouri), who has known connections to the mob. Augie continues to win every match until Jimmy Diamonds, fed up with the scam, breaks into Augie’s hotel room and informs him if he doesn’t lose the next day’s million dollar match he’ll end up at the bottom of a swimming pool wearing lead boots. Fearing for his life, Augie attempts to escape but is discovered by a very angry Riverboat who counters with a similar fate. Win or lose, he’s dead.

Jack Nicklaus (Winner of eighteen Major Golf Championships) watched THE SQUEEZE and really enjoyed it, saying; “It’s a fun movie that tells an appealing story, and the golf elements are so precise you actually believe it could happen.”

Five Time Major Champion, Phil Mickelson also thought THE SQUEEZE was a wonderful golf movie because it was so authentic.

THE SQUEEZE will debut on premium video-on-demand and in theaters in 12 top markets on April 17, 2015.

THE SQUEEZE was produced by Anne Archer, Terry Jastrow, Brian McCormack, Michael Doven, and George Parra and executive produced by Brian McCormack, Simon Horsman and Milton Kim. The film was negotiated by ARC Entertainment’s Trevor Drinkwater and Terry Jastrow on behalf of the filmmakers.

Groupon to Offer Its First-Ever Digital Download Movie “THE SQUEEZE”

Groupon, the global leader in online local commerce has entered new territory by offering its first-ever digital download movie, THE SQUEEZE.

The offer is available in two separate packages. Customers can either order the movie plus Tom Watson’s “Lessons of a Lifetime” DVD set, the most popular golf instructional video ever, for $19.99 (a $47.95 value), or the movie plus a tee time in their area via EZ Link, America’s largest tee time company, for $13.99 (a $28 value).

While Groupon has previously offered movie tickets to buy and use at the local cinema, this is the first time it’s offering a first-run movie as digital download for the general public to buy and screen at home.  Groupon customers can look for this special offer April 16th in selected cities.
