Streamsong Promotes Golf Staff Ahead of Opening Streamsong Black

Streamsong, the award-winning luxury golf resort in central Florida, has announced two promotions in its professional golf staff to position the team for the opening of its new Black course. Chad Helms, a PGA member since 2010 was promoted to Head Golf Professional of Streamsong’s two award winning courses, Red and Blue. Additionally, PGA member Matt Jordan has assumed the position of Head Golf Professional at Black, the resort’s third course that will open in September.

“As we prepare to expand our golf offering at Streamsong Resort, we are pleased to promote Chad and Matt to lead our daily golf operations,” said Scott Wilson, Director of Golf. “They have proven leadership skills and are committed to enhancing the exceptional guest service that the resort is known for when Streamsong Black opens this fall.”

Helms and Jordan have been an instrumental part of the resort’s golf staff since Streamsong’s opening in 2012. Chad Helms boasts more than 25 years experience in the golf industry, having served as a head professional at Cheval Golf & Country Club in Tampa and Canongate in Colorado, as well as assistant professional at The Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs. Matt Jordan, a PGA member since 2003, has held management roles in the golf industry for more than 12 years. His past experience includes leadership positions at Walt DisneyWorld Golf, Florida and the Blue Heron Golf Club in Medina, Ohio.

Streamsong Black, designed by 2016 Olympic golf course architect Gil Hanse ASGCA, will open to the public on September 29, 2017. The new course will introduce expanded practice facilities to the resort  with the addition of a large range, a 2-acre putting surface called ‘The Gauntlet,’ and an extensive practice area named ‘The Roundabout’ that will include a variety of short holes for a customizable golf experience with shorter loops and modified layouts.

The Black course will compliment the resort’s existing two courses, which are ranked among GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 Course You Can Play and Golf Digest’s 100 Greatest Public Courses. With the addition of the third course, Streamsong Resort will be the only place in the world where players can enjoy three distinct courses designed by legendary architects-Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, Tom Doak and Hanse.
