Sea Pines Opens Plantation Club

sea pines resortThe Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina has opened the new Plantation Golf Club & Golf Learning Center in March. The Club which accommodates the Heron Point course by Pete Dye and the scenic Ocean course houses an expansive pro shop, spacious men’s and women’s locker rooms, 2,000 square feet of event space and the new ‘Live Oak’ Bar and Grill.

“Our new 23,000 square foot clubhouse and golf learning center significantly enhance the golf experience for both our members and guests,” says Cary Corbitt, Vice President of Sports & Operations at Sea Pines Resort. “We’re passionate in our pursuit to provide world class amenities befitting our iconic golf destination.” Tim Cooke has been named the new Director of Golf Instruction for the Learning Center.

Sea Pines is also home to the legendary Harbour Town Golf Links which will host the PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage Classic presented by Boeing for the 45th year April 14-20. After the tournament, the Resort will begin construction on a new 19,000 square foot Harbour Town Golf Links Clubhouse on the existing site of the old clubhouse, and will include a gallery showcasing the Heritage Classic history and display of past champions. The legendary Low Country destination has also invested in multiple revitalization projects including the new Sea Pines Beach Club scheduled to open this summer. The two-story facility will provide year round enjoyment for resort guests and owners with a casual beachside restaurant and oceanfront bar.There will be retail shops, express concessions, a rooftop bar with terrace and special event space connected by outdoor decks, terraces and covered verandas.

They recently enhanced the Champions Ballroom at the Harbour Town Convention Center. The Inn at Harbour Town got a new infinity edge pool and terrace in 2013 just next to the first tee on the Links. The fabulous finishing hole overlooking the iconic Lighthouse on the Links course received a new car path as well as marsh restoration off its shoreline.
