Mission Inn Resort is celebrating a big birthday in 2014 – 50 years of Beucher family ownership and operation. To mark the occasion, a 50th Anniversary Golf Package, pairing the resort’s two award-winning championship golf courses with an overnight stay and generous resort credits, is now available.
Nestled among the rolling hills of Central Florida’s Lake County, Mission Inn Resort & Club is located in the quiet village of Howey-in-the-Hills, just a short drive northwest of Orlando. In addition to golf, the Spanish colonial style resort offers 190 graciously appointed guestrooms, suites and villas, three lovely dining venues, two lounges and a poolside bar. Amenities include eight tennis courts, trap and skeet shooting range, jogging and bicycling trails, volleyball courts, outdoor pool and hydro-spa, fitness center, the beautiful Spa Marbella, lakeside nautical center with fishing, powerboats and eco-tours. The Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy is located nearby and the Resort has over 30,000 square feet of meeting space, and a perfect setting for weddings.
Mission Inn’s 50th Anniversary Golf Package has a two night minimum and includes:
- Club Suite accommodations
- 18 holes of golf daily, with shared cart
- Range balls, club storage, advance tee times
- Breakfast buffet following each night’s stay
- $50 credit to use toward dinner each night
- $50 total credit per person in the Golf Shop
- Commemorative gift item
Package rates, which range from $260 to $310 depending on the dates of stay, are per person, per night and based on double occupancy with a two-night minimum. Tax, service charge, and resort fee are additional. A one-night deposit will be charged at time of booking, and a 72-hour cancellation policy is required to avoid a one-night penalty.
Mission Inn’s two championship courses include 36 holes of rare tee-to-green elevations of 85 feet, towering forests and sparkling spring-fed lakes. Revered as one of Florida’s finest, El Campeón (The Champion) championship layout was designed by George O’Neil of Chicago in 1917 and further enhanced in 1926 by Charles E. Clarke of Troon, Scotland. The course is consistently ranked in the top 10 best of Florida’s over 1,500 courses. Las Colinas (The Hills), the resort’s second 18-hole layout, was designed by former PGA Tour Player Gary Koch and opened in 1992 to immediate acclaim. Both courses are rated Four Star and recognized as “Best Places to Play” in North America by Golf Digest.
The Resort & Club has signed LPGA Tour professional Jacqui Concolino to an endorsement agreement for the 2014 season. Jacqui grew up in nearby Orlando. She will wear the Mission Inn Resort & Club logo on her hat and shirt crest and will make appearances at the historic Florida resort where she has played since her junior golf days.
“Mission Inn Resort has enjoyed a special connection with Jacqui, which makes her representation of this property on the LPGA Tour particularly rewarding,” said Bud Beucher, owner and general manager at Mission Inn Resort & Club. “She is a solid player and a great person, and we could not be happier to have her be identified with our resort.”
This will be Concolino’s third year on the LPGA Tour, coming off a season where she finished 70th on the tour money list. She was a first-team All American at Vanderbilt University in 2007. Concolino is a member of the board of directors of Fairways for Warriors, for which she serves as golf ambassador.
“I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to represent the Beucher family and Mission Inn Resort,” Concolino said. “Between the elevations on El Campeón and the parkland feel of Las Colinas, I’ll be able to prepare for any golf course I’ll see on the LPGA Tour. I’m really excited that we’ve formed this partnership.”
