The magnificent Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club in Ocala, Florida will be the site of the LPGA’s season opening event January 26-31, 2015. The Inaugural Coates Golf Championship will be presented by R & L Carriers at the Ron Garl masterfully designed riveting 18 hole championship golf course. Set in the beautiful rolling hills of Marion County and its horse farms country, Architect Garl recreated 8 tribute holes into the design from some of the world’s most famous layouts, including Augusta National, Royal Troon, Baltrusol, Muirfield and St Andrews. The centerpiece of the luxurious gated community located just west of !-75, is the 77,000 square foot elegant clubhouse which sits majestically surrounded by 1,200 acres. The best lady professionals and visitors will enjoy walking amongst some of the greatest golf holes right here in Florida. It should be a ‘Golden Experience’.

The Coates Golf Championship presented by R & L Carriers will host 120 players with 72 holes of stroke play over four days of competition with a purse of $1.5 million. The tournament will be played Wednesday January 26 through Saturday the 31st due to the Super Bowl on Sunday February 1st. The driving mission of the Coates Golf Championship is to showcase the Central Florida area as a great place to work, live and golf, as well as giving back to the community through charitable contributions.

“We have been overwhelmed with the amount of support the community has already shown to us. Anyone interested in seeing the behind the scenes action of the tournament and receive the chance to watch the world’s top female golfers is encouraged to register to volunteer,” said Lenny Francoeur, Tournament Director of the Coates Championship. ” The volunteers are the heart and soul of the event. Whether you are an avid golf fan or simply looking to get involved in a major community event, there is a volunteer spot for you.” The volunteer fee is a mere $40 and includes 2 tournament golf shirts, one official tournament jacket, an official hat or a Coates Golf branded visor, one volunteer badge, 4 weekly ground badges, meals the days of volunteering, one volunteer appreciation party invite, and an opportunity to play a round of golf on the Golden Ocala championship golf course.
