In Bee Park Clinches Career Grand Slam on Her Journey to Better
XXIO®, Srixon® and Cleveland® Golf congratulate staffer Inbee Park for her victory at the 2015 Ricoh Women’s British Open held at Turnberry Golf Club in Turnberry, Scotland. Park closed Sunday’s final round with a 7-under-par 65 to clinch the win with an overall score of 12-under 276. The 27-year-old South Korean’s victory on Sunday was her fourth win of the 2015 season and the seventh major championship of her career. The victory allowed Park to complete a Career Grand Slam, while also clinching the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award, which recognizes the player who has the most outstanding record in all five major championships throughout the current LPGA Tour season.
“This has been the goal of my career, and I’ve achieved it at the age of 27,” said Park. “I’ve set only one goal this year, one and only one, and that’s winning the Women’s British Open. It always seemed so far away and so hard. I never thought I could achieve such a thing, but now I’ve finally done it.”
“Inbee’s dominance, especially in the majors, is becoming legendary,” said Rodney McDonald, Vice President of Tour Operations for Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO – U.S.A. “She has won six of the last 14 majors and now she has become just the seventh player in history to win four different majors over the course of her young career.”
Park played with Srixon’s new 4th generation Z STAR® ball with SpinSkin® Technology, a XXIO 8 driver, XXIO Forged irons (#5-PW), and Cleveland Golf 588® RTX® 2.0 wedges (46°, 50°, 58°). Park, who has a Srixon logo on her hat, wears a Srixon glove, and carries a Srixon bag.
Park, who is currently the world’s top-ranked player, earned $450,000 for the victory, pushing her career total to nearly $12.2 million. Park’s season earnings of $2,196,982 currently ranks her No.1 on the 2015 LPGA Official Money List.
