The Executive Women’s Golf Association(EWGA) and The First Tee have partnered together during July for “Mentoring Month.” With more than 120 EWGA chapters and 179 First Tee chapters, the two national organizations are working to increase female role models and mentors at First Tee locations.
“The EWGA is all about bringing women together on the course and welcoming more individuals into our community through the game of golf,” says Pam Swenson, CEO of EWGA. ” By providing the youth with a role model and mentor, it really can create a sense of empowerment and enhance both their lives in every aspect.”
In Raleigh, North Carolina, the local EWGA chapter is holding a special meeting at Hiilandale Golf Club in Durham to introduce its members and guests to The First Tee of the Triangle The event is called “Meet and Greet Nikki”, who is a young lady in the First Tee program. Nikki and other girls will be there to network with the adult women. There are programs like these going on around the country where successful women can be role models to the youngsters.
