ECCO staff player Thongchai Jaidee wins Porsche European Open

Danish company ECCO, a leading manufacturer of innovative footwear, congratulates Staff Player Thongchai Jaidee in capturing the Porsche European Open wearing their ECCO TOUR HYBRID golf shoes featuring E-DTS outsole technology. The Porsche Open was held this past weekend at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach in Germany.

Showcasing the ECCO logo on his shirt collar, the 45 year old Thailand legend made 4 birdies during a bogey free, final round 67, that allowed him to finish 17 under par, besting the field by one stroke. It was Thongchai’s seventh European Tour title. With the win Jaidee moved into the top 10 in the Race to Dubai, and just outside the top 30 on the Official World Golf Rankings. He has also surpassed 11 million Euros in career European Tour earnings.

“Thongchai continues to play exceptional golf week after week and shows no signs of slowing down,” says Jesper Thuen, Global Marketing Manager for ECCO Golf Lab. ” His remarkably consistent form and status as one of Asia’s all-time great golfers, distinguish him as an excellent ambassador for ECCO Golf.”

Combining hand-crafted elegance with a dress shoe aesthetic, ECCO TOUR HYBRID is equally suited to the boardroom and country club. Available in waterproof GORE-TEX and weather-resistant HYDROMAX options, its E-DTS outsole boasts molded traction bars that provide hundreds of traction angles for superb grip.

Like all ECCO golf shoes, the ECCO TOUR HYBRID is crafted at company-owned factories using the Direct-injection Process. This bonds the upper and outsole unit, creating a one piece shoe without the use of glue or stitching. Benefits include outstanding flexibility, permanent memory and a firm, water-tight seal.

The ECCO Golf collection is also worn in competition by Fred Couples, Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Marcel Siem, Caroline Masson and many others. ECCO supplied the golf shoes for the European ladies team at the recently contested Solheim Cup in Germany. It is the fifth time ECCO has supported the team. “ECCO is renowned for its uncompromising quality, innovative technology and Scandinavian design philososphy,” says Eicko Shulz-HanBen, Director of Golf Club St. Leon Rot, the host venue for the 2015 Solheim Cup competition.
