Beginning March 9th, the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence will open for outside golf play 7 days a week. The golf course is the centerpiece of an award winning 900 acre residential community conveniently located just 2 miles from I-95 and about 15 miles from downtown Florence. Carved into the Heart of the Palmetto State, the Country Club of South Carolina opened in1969 as a private club with a 7,150 yard championship course designed by Ellis Maples, a protege’ of Donald Ross and patriarch of a renowned Pinehurst golf course architectural design firm. In addition the amenities at the country club include a 30,000 square foot clubhouse, multiple dining venues, a fitness center, Jr. Olympic pool, lighted tennis complex and multi station playground.
“We are very please to make our special golf course available to the people of Florence County and the surrounding area,” says GM Fred Burnett. “This will give us an opportunity to expose golfers to the southern charm of the club, the extensive recreational amenities and dining choices available to club members.” The Club is managed by Atlanta based Mosaic Clubs and Resorts, one of the fastest-growing club management companies in the country.
