Honours Golf to Manage Bluffs on Thompson Creek

Honours Golf, the premier golf management company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, has been selected by Bluffs Renaissance, LLC to provide club management and agronomic services for the Bluffs on Thompson Creek, a semi-private club located outside of St. Francisville, Louisiana.

Established in 1988, The Bluffs on Thompson Creek features an 18 hole Arnold Palmer Signature design golf course within a 300-home, master planned community in the West Feliciana Parish close to where John James Audubon painted his famous Birds of America. Stretching more than 7,100 yards, this championship course meanders through rolling hills, dense hardwood forests, flowing creeks, and scenic bluffs.

“As new owners and current residents of The Bluffs, we wanted to give our club and community the best chance we could for making The Bluffs on Thompson Creek the great destination venue that Arnold envisioned more than 27 years ago,” said Ken Carter, partner of the Bluffs Renaissance LLC. ” I do believe The Bluffs can become one of the finest golf experiences in the country, if not the world. We believe that Honours can make that happen.” Visit www.HonoursGolf.com to learn more.

The natural beauty and undisturbed terrain provided the perfect canvas for Arnold Palmer and his team. As with many Palmer designed courses, The Bluffs rewards the risk-taker and accurate shot-maker. Almost every hole could be considered the ‘signature hole’, however, it is #17, a 231 yard par 3 from the championship tees, that provides the most memorable and lasting impression with its 60 foot drop from the tee to a deep green guarded by Thompson Creek on both sides. In fact, it was selected as one of the feature holes in “The King’s Dream 18” by Kingdom Magazine. The golf course has had numerous accolades during its existence including Golf Digest’s ‘Best in State’ 2 different years, and also their ‘100 Best Public Courses in America.’

“The Bluffs Country Club has been consistently rated one of the top courses in Louisiana and we are honored to be given the opportunity to manage the club,” stated Bob Barrett, CEO of Honours Golf. “Our management, customer service and agronomic practices will help to enhance and elevate The Bluffs to a new level of excellence.”

The centerpiece of The Bluffs is its charming, West Indies style clubhouse that is situated on the highest bluff of the property overlooking the golf course and Thompson Creek. The spacious clubhouse has two dining experiences; The 19th Hole which features freshly made sandwiches, burgers and other local cajun fare, and the Palmer Room, offering an upscale dining experience with fresh local seafood and hand-cut steaks.

The Bluffs on Thompson Creek is a great place to hold a wedding or small business meetings. It offers plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces at the main clubhouse and separate cottage for events. The Chapel which overlooks # 9 hole and a small pond presents a picturesque and serene wedding venue. The Lodge at the Bluffs provide onsite accommodations for guests and business associates. Other amenities include 2 tennis courts, a spacious fitness center, scenic walking trails and 2 outdoor swimming pools with a children’s swim area.
