BallenIsles Country Club taps Ryan Walls as its New GM/COO

BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida went for the gusto when looking for their new General Manager/COO. They chose Troon Private Division President Ryan Walls, a 20 year member of the PGA of America and a former Horton Smith Award winner, which recognizes a member who exhibits exemplary contributions toward the education of PGA professionals.

On the heels of approving a $35 million clubhouse renovation inspired by the club’s iconic heritage, Walls was handpicked to lead BallenIsles into the future. “We are extremely pleased to announce Ryan Walls as our new GM/COO and feel that his multifaceted background makes him uniquely qualified to lead the operations of our club,” said Dr. Jack Cook, BallenIsles Board of Directors President.

Since Joining Troon in 1996, Walls operational leadership positions have included directing the company’s Australia, Asia & Pacific divisions. Prior to being appointed President of Troon Prive in 2016, Ryan served as Troon’s Sr. Vice President of Operations, overseeing a number of multi-course properties and Troon’s sales and marketing department. Walls and his family will be relocating from Scottsdale, Arizona, Troon’s headquarters, to Palm Beach Gardens.

BallenIsles clubhouse renovation, expected to open in the fall of 2018, will see the expansion from its current 72,000 square feet to 114,900, and feature a grand redesign of its 19th hole on the terrace offering breathtaking views of the East Course where Jack Nicklaus won the 1971 PGA Championship.
