ARNOLD PALMER’S BAY HILL CLUB & LODGE APPOINTS CHRIS FLYNN AS GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge has appointed Chris Flynn to the position of Golf Course Superintendent of the golf course and ground maintenance operations, to include the highly regarded Bay Hill course that is home to the PGA TOUR’s Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard.
Flynn grew up in Westchester County, NY where his interest in golf course management began at an early age thanks to his father and grandfather working in the same field. He became a caddy and worked alongside his father until graduating high school. Flynn later attended the State University of New York, earning a degree in Plant Science before gaining considerable golf course maintenance skills at clubs such as Westchester Country Club, Spyglass Hill Golf Club (Pebble Beach, CA), TPC Four Seasons Golf Club (Dallas, TX) and The Links at Spanish Bay. Flynn’s most recent position was Director of Grounds at Marriott’s Grande Vista Resort in Orlando.
Flynn will direct and manage all operations concerning golf and grounds maintenance at Bay Hill. This includes the overall maintenance of the golf course, practice areas, clubhouse and guest house grounds to the highest standard of excellence that is enjoyed by guests and members. He will also coordinate all construction projects related to the golf course, and is responsible for all agronomic practices pertaining to course conditioning and horticultural programs, including working with the PGA TOUR to ensure optimal course conditions for the annual Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard.
