The Antigua Group, Inc.-one of the nation’s leading designers and marketers of genuine sports apparel under the distinctive Antigua brand congratulates Kris Tamulis for her first victory on the LPGA Tour at the Yokohama Tire Classic in Prattville, Alabama.

Tamulis fired a final round 65 and held off charges by Yani Tseng and Austin Ernst to card her victory! Kris is a Florida State University Alumnus.

“All of us at Antigua are very proud to have Kris as an ambassador wearing our apparel on the LPGA Tour,” said Ron McPherson, President & CEO of Antigua. “She played a lot of holes on Sunday and really played a great final 18.”

Antigua has also been named the official apparel licensee for the United States Solheim Cup Team Captained by Julie Inkster, playing September 18-20 at Golf Club St. Leon-Rot in Germany. ” We have had the good fortune to design and develop the Ryder Cup uniforms in 1993, and now three times for the LPGA & Solheim Cup Team in 2011, 2013 and now in 2015,” said CEO Rod McPherson. “These opportunities are a great honor and recognition for our brand and company.”

The process of designing and developing the uniforms alongside Captain Inkster and Assistant Pat Hurst began in late fall 2014. The designs were finalized in January, 2015. The yearlong design involved choosing fabrics appropriate for the field of play and particular time of year in a specific seasonal climate. The fitting sessions took place even before the final team was chosen at LPGA Tour events and then narrowed down to the actual Team.

“It’s been great to work with the staff at Antigua, and they have always been a terrific supporter of the LPGA,” Captain Julie Inkster said. “They’ve been very enthusiastic about clothing the United States Team, and I’m really excited to see our players dressed in their red, white and blue.”

The final uniforms will consist of two separate changes per day for the tournament rounds, as well as additional outfits for each day of the practice rounds. It took more than a year from beginning to end to design the USA Solheim Cup Team clothing ensembles.

“All of us at Antigua are very proud to have been chosen by the LPGA to design and develop the uniforms for the 2015 Team,” McPherson said. “This is a great opportunity and honor undertaken with enormous pride for Antigua company-wide as the development and logistics that are involved with each department play a critical part in the final execution of the process. We have had terrific directional meetings with the LPGA staff and of course Captain Inkster.” Go USA!
